In the heart of Baixo Alentejo, next to Serra do Mendro, you can find this fantastic villa designed exclusively for holidays with family and/or friends. Recently restored, CASA ARCO-ÍRIS aims to offer the comfort expected of any modern house, although it has not forgotten its origins and, therefore, maintained the architectural layout of the typical Alentejo house.
It has two fully furnished bedrooms (1 with a double bed, the other with 2 single beds (plus an extra pull-out bed)), USB-C sockets, and equipped with air conditioning.
The kitchen, next to the dining room, is equipped, so that nothing is missing when it comes to cooking.
In the living room, a sofa, a dining table with 4 chairs (two more available in the bedrooms), TV, Internet. To complete the offer, an XL fireplace with stove, for those cold nights, and air conditioning to cool down on the sunny and hot days of the Alentejo summer.
Access to the bathroom is via the old-fashioned kitchen! There you will find: shower, sink, mirror, hairdryer, toilet and washing machine.
The backyard, facing east/south, has a barbecue and a lounge-style space at your disposal, which will certainly delight family and friends, during a meal, or in a simple get-together, accompanied by that Alentejo wine.

Vidigueira . Alentejo
Alcaria da Serra, located in the municipality of Vidigueira (about 5 minutes by car), is a quiet village, with around 120 inhabitants. Typically Alentejo, the predominant colors in their houses are yellow ochre, white and blue. It has few commercial spaces, although sufficient. A cultural and social center, a café/snack bar (A Bica), and a local store, where you can find some convenience products, located further south, on the street from this house. For the little ones, the village has a park, with some swings. At the top of the village, a viewpoint, where you can contemplate the beauty of Alentejo and its landscapes, take photographs, to remember later, or simply breathe and live the moment.
This village is considered to be: 'Lands of Bread, People of Peace'. However, it is the Wine that brings the region the most fame. Be it Table Wine, Liqueur, Sparkling Wine, or the famous Vinho da Talha (Vila de Frades), here you will find an infinite world of aromas and flavors to discover. From wine meals, wine tastings, visits to estates, cellars, routes, fairs, etc... whatever your decision, you will never be disappointed. .
Near the city center you will find the municipal swimming pools, which offer various solutions for swimming: swimming pools for older children and for younger children. for the coldest, and for the most daring (jumps of up to 10 meters). There are sun loungers at your disposal. parasols, tennis court, and bar, with affordable food and drinks.

In Vidigueira you will find restaurants serving Sausages, Açordas, Black Pork, Stews, some local fish, specialties with Silarcas (a type of local mushroom), etc... They are all delicious!
On the banks of Alqueva - The Great Lake - several river beaches have been created in recent years. They comply with all safety rules, just like conventional beaches, as well as all the associated amenities that you would expect to find on a beach. With extensive sandy areas, supervised, shaded areas, parking, bars and restaurants, they are an excellent way to enjoy the warm waters of the dam, which reach 30ºC in summer.
These are not “on your doorstep”, but they are worth every visit.

Amieira River Beach, dos 5 reis, from Albergaria dos Fusos – 30 minutes away.
Moura River Beach – 35 minutes.
Monsaraz River Beach – 60 minutes.
